DJI Mavic 3E
The established compact mapping platform with a 20 MP 4/3 CMOS camera, mechanical shutter, tele camera and optional RTK module.
The Mavic 3 Enterprise generation helped define portable professional mapping and thermal operations. Today, the lineup spans legacy M3E fleets, current thermal variants and the specialized Mavic 3M multispectral platform.
*Manufacturer maximums under defined test conditions. DJI specifies a maximum flight time of 43 minutes for Mavic 3M. Real-world performance varies with battery condition, environment and mission profile.
DJI continues to maintain Mavic 3 Enterprise documentation and support resources, but for new RGB mapping procurement we recommend evaluating Matrice 4E first.
M3E, the thermal aircraft and Mavic 3M now occupy different roles. The best next platform depends on whether your workflow is RGB mapping, thermal operations or multispectral analysis.
The established compact mapping platform with a 20 MP 4/3 CMOS camera, mechanical shutter, tele camera and optional RTK module.
DJI still lists both the Mavic 3T and newer Mavic 3T Advanced. The Advanced model upgrades the thermal module while retaining the compact Mavic 3 Enterprise architecture.
A purpose-built multispectral platform combining a 20 MP 4/3 RGB camera with four dedicated 5 MP spectral cameras for agriculture, forestry and environmental analysis.
Matrice 4E preserves the mechanical-shutter mapping concept that made Mavic 3E popular, while adding faster capture, integrated RTK, additional tele cameras, laser measurement and DJI's newer compact enterprise architecture.

Mavic 3M combines a 20 MP 4/3 RGB mechanical-shutter camera with four dedicated 5 MP multispectral cameras. That makes it fundamentally different from a conventional RGB mapping drone.
Start with the required data or operational outcome instead of starting with the aircraft name.
The correct aircraft changes depending on what your team needs to map, inspect or measure.

Lifecycle, compatibility and upgrade guidance for Canadian enterprise operators.
Unmanned Canada treats Mavic 3E as a legacy, discontinued platform for new procurement and recommends Matrice 4E for new compact mapping deployments. DJI still maintains Mavic 3 Enterprise documentation, so this does not mean DJI has ended all worldwide support.
Matrice 4E is the recommended current compact mapping platform. It retains a 20 MP 4/3 mechanical-shutter mapping camera while adding faster 0.5-second interval capture, integrated RTK, additional tele cameras, laser rangefinding and the newer O4 Enterprise architecture.
DJI still lists Mavic 3T in its Mavic 3 Enterprise Series documentation. For new compact flagship thermal procurement, Matrice 4T should also be evaluated.
DJI currently lists Mavic 3T Advanced as a distinct Mavic 3 Enterprise Series variant. It uses an upgraded thermal module compared with the original Mavic 3T.
Both use 640 × 512 radiometric thermal imaging. DJI specifies a 12 μm pixel pitch and 40 mm equivalent thermal lens for Mavic 3T, compared with an 8 μm pixel pitch and 60 mm equivalent thermal lens for Mavic 3T Advanced.
We found no current official DJI discontinuation notice for Mavic 3M. It remains relevant for precision agriculture, forestry, vegetation analysis and other multispectral workflows.
No. Matrice 4E is an RGB mapping and inspection platform. Mavic 3M includes four dedicated multispectral cameras covering green, red, red-edge and near-infrared bands. Matrice 4E is therefore not a direct multispectral sensor replacement.
Both use a 20 MP 4/3 mechanical-shutter mapping camera. Matrice 4E adds faster mapping capture, integrated RTK, 48 MP medium-tele and tele cameras, laser rangefinding and O4 Enterprise transmission.
Matrice 4T expands the compact thermal workflow with newer visual cameras, a medium-tele camera, laser rangefinder, NIR auxiliary light, newer intelligent features and longer maximum flight time.
Yes. Contact Unmanned Canada to discuss existing aircraft, batteries, RTK modules, thermal workflows, software, training or a phased transition to Matrice 4E and Matrice 4T.
Whether you are maintaining an existing Mavic 3 Enterprise fleet, evaluating Mavic 3M, or moving toward Matrice 4E or 4T, we can help configure the complete workflow.
Product lifecycle, availability, firmware and compatibility may change. Mavic 3E is described here as legacy for new Unmanned Canada procurement; DJI may continue software, service or regional availability. Confirm current Canadian availability before procurement.
