Multi-Camera System for Superior Detail

The Matrice 4D's imaging system delivers a robust multi-camera solution designed for versatile inspection, mapping, and reconnaissance. At its core is a wide-angle camera featuring a 4/3 CMOS sensor with 20MP effective pixels, offering a variable aperture from f/2.8 to f/11 and a mechanical shutter for high-speed, distortion-free captures. Supporting this is a medium telephoto camera equipped with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and 48MP resolution at a 70mm format equivalent—ideal for mid-range detail work.

For even greater precision at distance, the 1/1.5-inch CMOS telephoto camera delivers 48MP stills with a 168mm format equivalent lens. An integrated laser range finder complements the camera suite, measuring distances up to 1800 meters with high accuracy, even at oblique angles. Its precision of ±(0.2 + 0.0015 × D) meters ensures reliable performance across various inspection scenarios.

Extended Flight Time & Rugged Performance Built for endurance, the Matrice 4D can achieve up to 54 minutes of forward flight and 47 minutes of hover time, depending on environmental conditions. When operating within a 10-kilometer radius, the drone maintains a flight time of 18 minutes Its IP55-rated body provides robust protection against dust and water, making it suitable for deployment in harsh environments. Capable of maintaining speeds up to 15 meters per second, the drone combines speed and efficiency with long-lasting power.

Intelligent Obstacle Sensing for Operational Safety To navigate complex environments safely, the Matrice 4D integrates a sophisticated obstacle sensing system. Using a combination of rotating LiDAR and millimeter-wave radar, it detects obstacles as small as 12mm wires even at high speeds. This ensures precise navigation in areas such as power line corridors and substations, while enhanced low-light capabilities maintain operational safety in poor visibility conditions.

Matrice 4D for the Dock 3

The DJI Matrice 4D was purpose-built to operate seamlessly with the DJI Dock 3 system, combining advanced autonomous flight capabilities with robust all-weather performance. Designed with fully integrated compatibility in mind, the Matrice 4D features precision landing, automated charging, and remote deployment functions that align specifically with the operational needs of the Dock 3 platform.

Although it was engineered as part of the Dock 3 ecosystem, the Matrice 4D is also available as a standalone product, making it accessible for users who may not require a full docking solution. This modular availability allows operators to deploy the Matrice 4D in diverse field conditions or integrate it into customized drone workflows while still benefiting from its compact industrial-grade design, RTK positioning, and advanced flight autonomy.

High-Precision Mapping & Terrain Adaptability

Designed for surveying professionals, the Matrice 4D supports advanced mapping features such as 5-direction oblique photography and 3-direction orthophoto capture. Real-time terrain following adapts to elevation changes, ensuring consistent results over varied topography. Integration with DJI FlightHub 2 unlocks intelligent route planning options, including Smart 3D Capture, geometric routes, and slope-adaptive paths, streamlining workflow and enhancing modelling precision.

Telephoto Detail & Stability

The Matrice 4D’s medium tele and telephoto cameras provide outstanding zoom capabilities with foreground stabilization. The medium telephoto lens allows users to identify structural defects or small elements, like cracks or fasteners, from 10 meters away. Meanwhile, the 48MP telephoto camera excels at long-range recognition, able to capture fine details such as signage from 250 meters. An upward tilting gimbal, up to 80 degrees, enables inspection of bridge undersides and overhangs, and stabilization is optimized to maintain clarity even at high zoom levels.
